COMUNICACIÓN Y COVID-19: LA PANDEMIA A TRAVÉS DE TWITTER EN LATINOAMÉRICA. Un vistazo general en 4 países.

Resumen


El presente artículo se enmarca en el contexto de comunicación para crisis sanitarias a través del uso de redes sociales en Latinoamérica, específicamente el uso de Twitter en los países latinoamericanos con mayor número de usuarios. Realizamos un análisis comparativo sobre la presencia de mensajes sobre COVID-19 en Twitter en México, Argentina, Brasil y Colombia. A pesar del alcance limitado de Twitter en la población, Twitter tiene un gran potencial para amplificar los mensajes. La presencia de autoridades públicas y de salud es escasa, mientras que las personalidades mediáticas tienen una fuerte presencia. La mayoría de los tuits se centran en compartir información y anuncios de la pandemia con otros usuarios. Finalmente, este artículo ofrece recomendaciones basadas en la revisión del uso de Twitter en los primeros meses de COVID-19.
