Nº 5 (Nov.2015-Oct.2016): Crisis and urban policies in big Spanish cities.

In this number of QUID 16, we present the main results obtained from an investigation about urban policies in Spain, gathered from the works of more than twenty specialists from many universities that focused on the effects of the financial and speculative crisis and the change of times brought by the digital transformation that took place in the most important cities of this country. The articles compiled in this edition make reference to four of those in particular, namely Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla and Bilbao. Cities that for its intrinsic value and own diversity allow us to come up with an idea of what the sudden change in the urban Spanish scenery after the crisis of 2017 blowout has meant. Our pretention was not to merely inspect each of those cities, but to debate how the coming out from the crisis has taken place in the urban scenery, in a broad sense, something akin to the tensions generated between Neoliberalism and it’s alternatives on a global scale.
