  Nº 2 (Nov.2012-Oct.2013): Social class and territory.

  Those discussions that connect social classes and territory have frequently limited its approach to the processes of residential segregation in great cities. However, even while limiting ourselves to urban centers, there are still many aspects of this relationship to be explored. How frequent is the fact that members of the same social class live in relatively homogeneous neighborhoods? Up to which extent are the residential norms different in relation to the social classes in consideration? How do social structure and occupation of urban spaces relate to each other? How and when residence constitutes a key element that contributes to define which class a person belongs to? How are lifestyle, opportunities and territory related? The goal of this number is to collect theoretical discussions and the result of empirical investigations that place at the center of the discussion these and other aspects of the relationship between social classes and territory.

  Nº 1 (Nov.2011-Oct.2012): City, environment and social construction of risk.

  The construction of risk is a social and historical process. The disaster is a process and a product that manifests the level of risk present in a society, and the most evident expression of the vulnerable coexistence between diverse social groups and its medium. Understanding the disaster forces to analyze how the conditions of risk evolved historical and prospectively. The purpose of this number is to deepen the thoughts around the urban and environmental risks, seeking to incorporate new viewpoints that allow the identification of the roles of social actors and public policies. We propose an investigation around the historical aspects of the social construction of risk in relation to spatial and social segregation.
