State housing, living conditions and urban opportunities in peripheral environments. The neighborhoods Ciudad de Mis Sueños and Ciudad Obispo Angelelli (Córdoba)

In Latin America, public social housing policies and the effects of the location of housing complexes have been central in the configuration of processes of differentiation and socio-spatial injustice. The article addresses the relationship between public housing policies and the production of urbanized space within the framework of the processes of physical-spatial transformations present in regional metropolises, such as the city of Córdoba. Specifically, we proposed to investigate the physical-territorial and social effects derived from the production of social housing complexes (called neighborhood-cities) through public housing policy, in peripheral locations in this city. Living conditions and access to the city are interpreted from the explanatory framework of opportunity structures, linked to social-spatial integration, considering the evolution of the urban-residential space in the location environments. The methodological strategy developed is analytical-descriptive and qualitative, based on the approach of two case studies: Ciudad de Mis Sueños and Ciudad Obispo Angelelli, since they present a differential urban dynamic, which would enable various degrees of articulation with the immediate neighborhood context. and integration processes in nearby urban environments. The case study incorporated the reading and analysis of the urban location and the evolution of the environments with graphic representation tools, field observations were carried out to characterize the neighborhoods and semi-structured interviews with residents of both neighborhoods.Downloads
