This article aims to analyze the theme of risk associated with youth. When we approach the concept of risk, we are referring to two elements simultaneously: risk in the sense of threat or danger and risk in the sense of urban interventions marked by their rapid production time. With the empirical focus of our ethnographies on the study of young people who produce graffiti in southern Brazil, we started a debate about the possible risk mythologies. After presenting three mythological dimensions narrated by interlocutors of our research, we discussed practical experiences lived by us as urban ethnographers in accompanying young street artists. Finally, we bring a theoretical debate where we seek to creatively associate the conceptual fields of risk and youth studies.Downloads
