Fábricas refuncionalizadas. ¿Dispositivos de integración o de segmentación urbana?

El objetivo principal de este artículo es explorar las singularidades de la propuesta residencial representada por las fábricas refuncionalizadas en el barrio de Barracas del sur de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, atendiendo a las similitudes y diferencias que tienen con los modelos residenciales que han proliferado desde la década del noventa –torres country y barrios cerrados-, y a los modos en que unos y otros segmentan socialmente el espacio urbano. Por último, concluimos que la propuesta residencial considerada, es posible de realizar únicamente si la iniciativa privada se desarrolla en sincronía con una política pública de desarrollo urbano.
La metodología adoptada fue de tipo cualitativo, contando, entre nuestras principales fuentes de información páginas webs, publicaciones académicas, artículos periodísticos y entrevistas.
