Narrative figures of hegemonic masculinity: the warrior, the courtier, the bourgeois.

Abstract


This article presents the results of an exploratory study that sought to identify the characteristics that male residents of the city of Querétaro, Mexico attribute to hegemonic masculinity. Based on a mixed methodology that combines the frequency analysis of a free association technique and qualitative techniques of discourse analysis, three narrative figures are proposed that coexist in the population and are part of the transformation of the contents of hegemonic masculinity .
