Materialism, Spirituality and Purpose of Life

Cecilia Yaccarini, Hernán Furman

Abstract

This review article proposes a brief round through different works that have conceptualized and measured the following constructs: Materialism, Spirituality and Purpose in Life. The goal of this work will be to try to suggest some of the possible relationships between the mentioned constructs once presented the definitions and outlined an argumentative line in each case. On the one hand, it shall relate Materialism and Spirituality, trying to highlight the opposition observed between the two. On the other hand, it will relate Materialism and Purpose in Life, where it is also possible to delineate an apparent opposition.
