The present work systematizes the first results of the development project of a digital audio application, AudioLabGeo, that allows the listening, in mobile devices and computers, of radiophonic contents about spots of historical, geographical, social and cultural interest. The initiative, which seeks to explore the potential interfaces between radio and locative media, is the result of a partnership between AudioLab (Audio Laboratory) of the Faculty of Social Communication (FCS) and the Laboratory of Computer Science (LCC) of the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics (IME) of the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), aiming at the creation of a collaborative platform, bringing together several higher education institutions, not only in Brazil, but at the international level. In the course, the barriers to innovative and transdisciplinary initiatives in Brazilian public universities will be addressed.
