Abstract
The electronic tango’s productions have an important support on visual aspects. This is obvious in the participation of VJs, in DVDs and in videoclips. At the same time, electronic tango is used as soundtrack by listeners and fans in a significant number of videos shared on platforms like YouTube. How does the interaction between music and image affect the construction or updating of certain meanings? Which imaginaries are reinforced and which are avoided in these productions? What coincidences and dissents 91 can be found between visual narratives of professional musical productions and not professional? What theories tools can be used to analyse audiovisual productions? Those are some of the questions formulated in this paper. The interaction between music and image is investigated from a selection of videos, some of them produced by Bajofondo, Gotan Project, Otros Aires, Tango Crash and Tanghetto; others, made by fans and users of electronic tango.
