The construction of large cities has brought with it the appearance of exotic species that inhabit it. These have been observed, studied, built conceptually, persecuted, controlled and even hunted to extinction. Our interest lies in the flâneur, that anonymous passerby whom was able to tought and create his very own persona with every tour through the city. We’d like to walk along the flâneur in its route of today’s cities, and think if there are possibilities for its existence in the actual context of monitoring and controlling devices by information and communication technologies, constantly generating data such as geolocation. Is there any escape from this scenario or it must be a radical transformation of the flâneur using the same tools that threaten their very existence?
