Acompañamiento de personas gestantes que eligen no maternar. Una aproximación al desvinculo

Resumen

Resumen: En el presente artículo nos proponemos introducir reflexiones surgidas a partir del acompañamiento de gestantes que no desean maternar. Lo que implicó en un primer momento cuestionar las concepciones desde las cuales se abordaban dichas situaciones. Nos adentramos en el concepto de desvinculo como así también en el análisis de lo que implica socialmente la maternidad y por lo tanto la decisión de no maternar. Asimismo proponemos repensar las prácticas y articulaciones de las instituciones intervinientes haciendo confluir los derechos de las gestantes al decidir no maternar y de la niña/o a su identidad y a vivir en familia. Para finalizar ubicamos la necesidad de institucionalizar protocolos de intervención frente a estas situaciones a fin de garantizar buenas prácticas desde la perspectiva de Derechos Humanos y perspectiva de género.

Summary: The purpose of this article is to reflect on diverse issues that arose from working alongside people with reproductive abilities who do not wish to raise children. As a first step, this implied questioning the basic beliefs and concepts from which these situations are typically approached. We delve into the concept of “disengagement” as well as the analysis of what motherhood socially implies, and therefore how this impacts the decision to refrain from exercising the role. On top of this, we reflect on the practices and networks of the institutions that work with these issues, in order to articulate the rights of the people with reproductive abilities when deciding not to exercise motherhood, and the rights of the children to live with their family and have knowledge of their identity. Lastly, we identify the need to institutionalize protocols in these situations in order to guarantee good practices from a Gender and Human Rights perspective.
