Afrontamiento religioso judío y neuroticismo

En este estudio se abordará la relación existente entre el Afrontamiento Religioso Judío y la Estabilidad Emocional. Existen numerosos trabajos sobre el Afrontamiento Religioso Cristiano, pero casi no se conoce sobre el Afrontamiento Religioso Judío. Sólo han sido realizados pocos estudios en Estados Unidos. La escala de Afrontamiento Religioso Judío se conoce por el nombre de JCOPE y es una adaptación de la escala RCOPE que se emplea usualmente para evaluar el Afrontamiento Religioso Cristiano. La escala JCOPE tiene 22 items y sugiere que el afrontamiento religioso es un predictor significativo del distress psicológico entre judíos. En relación a la evaluación de la Personalidad, se considerará el modelo de los Cinco Factores FFM o Big Five, específicamente el factor Neuroticismo. El modelo Big Five se ha consolidado a partir de diversas investigaciones, y constituye una generalización empírica de la covariación de los rasgos de personalidad. Dicho modelo postula que la personalidad puede ser conceptualizada a partir de cinco amplias dimensiones: Neuroticismo, Extroversión, Apertura a la Experiencia, Amabilidad y Responsabilidad (McCrae & Costa, 1997). El presente trabajo se propone entonces explorar las relaciones entre el afrontamiento religioso judío y el FFM.
