Estudio instrumental de la Animal Empathy Scale: estructura interna y confiabilidad

Abstract


La empatía es muy relevante para entender el comportamiento humano, y a la vez ha sido objeto decontroversias teóricas y metodológicas. Actualmente se acepta su naturaleza multidimensional pero la cuestión de su medición sigue siendo problemática. Coexisten diferentes operacionalizaciones que se corresponden con los componentes que se enfatizan y medidas genéricas junto a otras más específicas. En el presente trabajo analizamos las propiedades psicométricas de la Animal EmpathyScale (AES) que mide específicamente la empatía emocional hacia animales. El estudio instrumental se basó en un muestreo no probabilístico incidental (N = 241 estudiantes universitarios). La AES presenta una estructura unidimensional y adecuadas propiedades psicométricas (ω=.91; CFI = .996;GFI = .991) y posibilita la evaluación de la empatía específica dirigida hacia animales. Contar conella resulta de utilidad para el análisis de la generalización de la empatía interespecie.
