Valor predictivo del locus de control, el apoyo social, la autonomía y las demandas sobre el afrontamiento del estrés en el trabajo

Abstract


Frente a los escenarios actuales en el mundo de las organizaciones, los trabajadores desarrollan estrategias de afrontamiento que les permitan transitar las transformaciones y el estrés generado por las mismas. El objetivo del presente estudio consiste en analizar cómo los componentes internos (locus de control) y externos (apoyo social, demandas y control del trabajo) influyen en las estrategias de afrontamiento del estrés en trabajadores residentes en el Área Metropolitana de Buenos Aires (AMBA). La muestra se conformó de 256 trabajadores. Se utilizaron los instrumentos 1) Escala de Locus de Control de Rotter, 2) Escala Breve de Afrontamiento al Estrés, 3) Job Content Questionnaire y un cuestionario sociodemográfico ad hoc. Se realizaron regresiones lineales simples y múltiples con el objetivo de evaluar el valor predictivo de las dimensiones del JCQ y el locus de control sobre las estrategias de afrontamiento evaluadas. Por un lado, bajos niveles de demandas en el trabajo predicen una mayor utilización de estrategias de afrontamiento activas cognitivas. Por otro lado, altos niveles de apoyo social y control se presentan como predictores del uso de afrontamiento activo conductual y emocional. Por otro, se pudo sostenerse de manera satisfactoria puesto que el Locus de Control externo parece funcionar como predictor de las estrategias de afrontamiento pasivas de tipo cognitivas, conductuales o emocionales. A partir de estos resultados, es posible inferir recursos para el diseño de intervenciones tanto en el ámbito organizacional, así como también en el clínico en lo que respecta al área laboral de los consultantes.
