Abstract

The article presents the concepts of Privileged Spaces/areas of Accumulation, a category which is crucial for understanding the nature of the articulation among state intervention, corporate behavior, and the performance of big corporations in Argentina. Likewise, it proposes a theoretical-methodological approach to

analyze this complex process in the recent history of the country. Finally, there is a

summary of the main results from the empirical research related to the expansion of these privileged areas between 1976 and 1989-quoting one case in particular: The expansion generated after the peripheral privatization of the state oil company YPF.
