La Evaluación Multidimensional de la Autoestima y su relación con el Modelo de los Cinco Factores

Abstract


En los últimos años numerosos trabajos han observado que la autoestima se encuentra positivamente asociada a la extraversión, la responsabilidad, la amabilidad y la responsabilidad y negativamente al neuroticismo. Sin embargo, la mayoría de los estudios emplean medidas que evalúan la autoestima de manera unidimensional, lo que no permite discriminar si los rasgos se asocian de manera diferencial con diferentes dimensiones de la autoestima. El presente trabajo se propone explorar la relación entre los cinco factores de la personalidad y la autoestima en una muestra compuesta por 116 estudiantes de nivel medio de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires (CABA). De manera consistente con la literatura, la autoestima academica, física, familiar y social se encuentra asociada a los cinco factores de la personalidad. Futuros estudios podrían considerar la posibilidad de explorar el modo en que estas variables se asocian en otras franjas etarias.
